Yax Yoga Concepts is certified through Yoga Alliance to teach 200 hour and 500 hour level teacher trainings. Having studied with masters from many spiritual traditions as well as the many great teachers from the Hot Yoga and Vinyasa lineages, our focus is to develop powerful people into inspiring teachers. With over 10,000 hours of teaching experience, our teacher training programs are designed to provide an in-depth exploration into the process and science of yoga. Our programs are physically, mentally and spiritually challenging, but because we cannot teach where we have not been, this work is necessary to develop ourselves into effective, heartfelt teachers. Yax Yoga Concepts teacher training programs offer the opportunity to dive deep into the practice of yoga and the fulfillment of sharing the path with others.
This program teaches instructors how to excel at teaching, how to prevent injury, and how to assist skillfully. The teaching manual is packed with usable, understandable, and ready-to-use tools and techniques. The discussions are guided yet are allowed to be organic (they aren’t lectures). John and Chis live what they teach, bringing a rare authenticity to each conversation. I couldn’t recommend this program more.
I wouldn’t have wanted to complete my training anywhere else, they are amazing teachers. I had one of the most incredible and fulfilling experiences of my life training with them and I can’t wait to spread the love and science of yoga onto others using the tools they have given me. I highly recommend.
Yax Yoga Concepts provided a highly prepared, practical, theoretical, spiritual program. I feel exceedingly prepared to begin teaching, and I thank my trainers for their hard work and effort to provide such a high quality program. I highly recommend this program, and I cannot believe another program exists that would more completely prepare a student to begin teaching than Yax Yoga Concepts.
My experience with Yax Yoga Concepts far exceeded my expectations. The information we discussed was thorough, informative, and interesting. The teaching skills of John and Chris Yax are remarkable. I would recommend this program to anyone!

We average 25 to 45 people per training, and teachers John Yax (E-RYT 500) and Christopher Yax (E-RYT 500) are skillful at creating meaningful intimate experiences regardless of the size of the group. The age of participants usually ranges from about 25 – 50 years young.
If a weekend is missed, make up work will be assigned. If more than two weekends are missed, it may affect the student’s ability to have enough contact hours to graduate.
We do not have the ability to do work-exchange programs as we are not connected to any studio. Scholarships are granted on a case-by-case basis.
Homework consists of reading certain chapters of the books, practicing asana, meditating, and practicing teaching. The amount of time it takes will vary, however it is manageable within one’s daily schedule. If you miss a session, then there will be more laborious writing assignments to help you catch up on missed information.
We can give recommendations and have worked out discounts at certain hotels. Most people connect with other students and work out unique accommodations.
Yes, Yax Yoga Concepts is a Registered Yoga School (RYS). After completing the training you may register with Yoga Alliance and be certified to teach anywhere in the world.
